The Desmond Hotel, Albany, New York

Dear Members of the New York State Association of Cemeteries:

The 33rd Annual Public Affairs Seminar will convene at The Desmond Hotel in Albany, New York on:

Monday, May 3, 2010
and
Tuesday, May 4, 2010

The seminar will open at 1:00 pm with a meeting of the State Cemetery Board. Regulated or not it’s good to watch the regulators in action. General sessions will begin at 2:15 pm with a presentation from The Division of Cemeteries entitled “Complaints, Complainers and Conclusions.” This presentation will detail cemetery concerns that the public raises with the division.

Next up, the Association’s own Government and Legal Affairs Committee will report on current legal issues from the cemeteries perspective. The afternoon will close with a session on the financial climate presented by the Hudson Valley Bank’s Senior Vice President of Trusts and Investments. Cocktails and dinner will complete the evening.

The Tuesday session will commence with an insurance update followed by the ever popular “Ask the Lawyer.” Please submit your legal questions on cemetery operations or administration to Tim Griffin, Panel Moderator, by fax (914) 771-6751; email timgriffin@aol.com or on the registration form prior to the seminar.
Please submit your registration today, so as not to miss out on this very important seminar. I look forward to seeing you in Albany on May 3-4, 2010.

Very truly yours,

Andrew Nagle
Seminar Chair
